Which Board Member Went to Charm School?

The November 11, 2002, Master Association meeting was one full of drama, and none of it is reflected in the meeting minutes. (Good job, property manager.) The meeting minutes do show that all 5 board members were present at that meeting, along with 10 homeowners.

This series of events begins after the meeting, when one board member, the late Irwin Posner, received a phone call from a homeowner who had attended that meeting, and Irwin e-mailed fellow board member Norlene Mooney with his concern:

Subj: Master Meeting
Date: 11/13/2002 5:20:31 PM Pacific Standard Time
From: Irwinposner
To: Norlenemooney

Norlene, I received a telephone call from one of the people in the audience at the Master Meeting on Monday. They proceeded to tell me that you x xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx They also stated that you were xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxx xxxx xxxxx xxxxxxxx at the meeting. I noticed this also but chose not to say anything at the time.

This person also told me that you told Barbara "how to vote" when she looked at you for advice, and she did vote to abstain on the garbage cans as you did.

We are all adults and this behavior, behind my back, really is not in the best interest of the complex. I want to work with everyone on both Boards so that the homeowners get the best possible representation. If you have a problem with me, or with something that I am doing, please call or write an e-mail to me so that we can all work together I do expect to hear from you!

Irwin

Norlene, I just received the message you left on my answering service. I think it is best that you cool down and we can talk about this another day. As I said in my original message, someone who was at the meeting called me to tell me that you xxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxx xxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx and xxxxxxxxx xxxxx xxxx xx xxxe. There is nothing else to say as I noticed the same thing. I want to work in peace and harmony with all the Board members. I demand respect from all of you, however! If this continues I will stop the meeting and call it to your attention. Please do not send me any more harassing phone calls, I asked to talk to you not to be harassed!

Irwin:

Reread your message - YOU ASKED ME TO CALL - IN FACT YOU STATED "I DO EXPECT TO HEAR FROM YOU!"

You are threatening the wrong person.

A man would have handled this like a man, not sending e-mails which you have a propensity for doing. I told you in my living room don't try with me what you did with Barbara.

As I said to you on the phone "I am appalled by your email. You are paranoid and that you should call a meeting to discuss this with everyone involved so this can be straightened out."

This will be my only e-mail on this issue -call me when the meeting is scheduled.

Put up or shut up.

Norlene

Oh smack. What a charming little missive there Ms. Mooney. This has to rank as the nastiest e-mail ever by a board member.

On another note, it is very interesting to see how all of the board members had AOL accounts where they freely exchanged commentary. None of their email is entered into the meeting minutes, but this one wouldn't need be.

Parts of this communication have been redacted because they contain allegations made by unnamed third-parties and edgewaterisle.com is unable to verify them, which is not the same as saying that edgewaterisle.com believes the allegations to be untrue.
