HIP Housing sued to evict renter from Senior Apartments

HIP Housing, doing business as Edgewater Isle Senior Apartments, filed an "unlawful detainer" action on July 3, 2014, in San Mateo County Superior Court to evict a tenant for failure to perform a covenant in the lease. Specifically, the renter was required to recertify their eligibility to rent at the Edgewater Isle Senior Apartments, and the renter failed to complete the paperwork. The case was valued at less than $10,000 in damages.

The tenant went to Legal Aid and was able to negotate a stipulated judgment with HIP, allowing him to stay in the apartment, according to the judgment.

Here is the original complaint, and here is the stipulated judgment.
